I have always like
the arts.
When I was
younger (17), I wanted to be a photojournalist but was told that I was
too young to decide on that; to take transfer classes till I decide what
I really want.
This was not for
me so I gave up on college. Got married raised a family instead. and did
the photo thing along the way.
Now, in my 30's I
go back to college to fill my desire of the arts. I want to do non
traditional therapy utilizing many art avenues. Photography came to the
schedule and I jumped at the chance took 3 photo classes all together
and it has peaked my interest more.
I have found a
field I am passionate about but I don't fit the molds of specialty. I am
a no limit shooter and darkroom player. It is not easy getting into the
field.
I have just
started trying to get my photos out by displaying in a local cafe or
through the net. I would like to make photography a job but then again
am scared, too - for fear it will take away the joy I have for it now.
Why is the arts
not an acceptable career? Now that I am older I can do my thing and
pursue the field of interest but I am still getting "that's not a
career that's fun."
Hmm, can't have
fun at your job?
So to all you
wannabes GO FOR IT! Don't let others squash your dreams! Deep within me
the dream was always there.
